The thing that made me happy today was a nice family dinner before my son leaves for school.  Although we did miss my two nieces who aren't home from camp yet!

The thing that made me happy today was finishing packing my son up to go back to school!  I packed my stuff too!  A very productive night!

The thing that made me happy today was my father's successful surgical procedure!  And being in a hospital waiting room with my mother an my brother is always entertaining!

The thing that made me happy today was sitting at a table with 10 people all afternoon where NONE of them even looked at their phones once!  There was not an iPhone or a Blackberry to be seen!  And amongst this group was a doctor, a dentist and a lawyer - all of whom have their own successful practices.  I think we ALL forget sometimes that we can "disconnect" for a little while we are with other people.

The thing that made me happy today was knowing that I am actually getting through to the residents of my home!  Just when I could swear things go in one ear and out the other,  a glimmer of validation peeps through!

The thing that made me happy today was the interaction I had with a nice old man in the elevator.  He was already on the elevator when it stopped at my floor and he started to get off of the elevator thinking that he had reached the lobby.  When he realized he had not gotten to the lobby yet, he just started to laugh and stepped back into the elevator - I couldn't help but smile with him.  Upon reaching the lobby, he graciously allowed me to step out first and extended his arm out as if to say "after you!"  I extended him the same courtesy as I opened the door to the building and let him go out first.  When we got outside, we both wished each other a pleasant evening!

The thing that made me happy today was realizing that my daughter has TWO weekends between camp ending and school starting!  This might help us to do more college visiting!

The thing that made me happy today was driving home from work with some classic rock BLASTING on the radio!  It was two-fer Tuesday and the last 4 songs I heard before I got to my house were 2 great songs from Foreigner and another 2 great songs from Bon Jovi including my very favorite one, "Living On a Prayer".

The thing that made me happy today was completing the very long "to do" list I had made for myself today!  And I even had to deal (successfully, I might add!) with a few problems that came up that were NOT on my list!  All in all, a very productive day!
